Zoo

This past Friday I took the day off so that we could all make a trip to the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo.  My mother-in-law also happened to be here so she was able to come with us.  We just happened to pick a very hot day (the high was 98 I believe), so we showed up as soon as they opened.  I hadn't been there since high school, so I was very excited to see all of the changes & new additions.  Despite the heat & the sweating, we had a good time overall.  Gabe was very interested in some of the monkeys & birds & fish.  We tried to point out all of the animals but if something wasn't moving he didn't care much.  :)  Some of our highlights include watching a giraffe eat from about 3 feet away, watching the sea lions eat & do tricks, hand feeding goats in the petting zoo (yes Gabe too) & taking a log canoe ride through the Austrailian section of the zoo.

15 Month Check-Up

Gabe recently went to the Dr. for his 15 month check-up.  He seems to be growing & developing right on schedule.  He is 24 pounds (with shoes) & about 33 inches long.  He seems to have had a growth spurt over the last 3 months even though everyone told me he would stop gaining weight when he started walking.  He is nearly running & making a lot of noise screaming & chatting.  My personal favorite is when something unorthodox happens or he gets upset about something, & he just rattles off a bunch of sounds & syllables that sound like he is trying to tell me quite the story.  He has also begun to get his 1st year molars.  Two of them are partially through after a week or so of grouchiness & a runny nose.  He was quite the bear!! He definitely has a lot of personality & can be quite stubborn or boisterous.
